Mike Riordan heads up Barbizon's Systems Division for the Arizona office. He is a life long resident of Arizona and has been involved with systems work for 11 years.
Mike started his career with the Mesa Unified School District as Auditorium Manager and Stagecraft Instructor. While with Mesa Unified, he oversaw the renovation of all 5 of the Mesa High School Auditoriums. After leaving the school district, he joined a nationally recognized rental and production company. While running the audio department he founded and implemented the Systems and Installation Division, eventually moving full time to head up and manage both sales and installations. Most recently, Mike joined the Barbizon team and opened the new office in Arizona. While with Barbizon, Mike has greatly expanded the scope and type of projects he is a part of.
Mr. Riordan has worked in a variety of positions related to systems work - installer, project manager, consultant, designer - even as owner's representative. The type of systems work has covered a wide spectrum including, theatrical and studio lighting systems, sound reinforcement and theatrical rigging systems. Some of the projects of note that Mike has worked on over the years: Mesa High Schools - Renovation of Five Auditoriums, Mesa AZ; Santa Rita High School Renovation, Tucson AZ; KSAZ & KPNX Studio Lighting Expansions, Phoenix AZ; America West Arena Audio System Upgrades, Phoenix AZ; Hyatt Regency - New Ballroom Lighting and Audio Systems, Scottsdale AZ and HRH Crown Prince Abdullah's Palace Renovation, Jeddah Saudi Arabia.
Mike carries an Arizona Commercial Electrical Contractors License, is a certified ETC Technician, and has completed the Master Class in Stage Rigging. He has also been actively involved in theatre education for the past 15 years through the ETA / International Thespians and USITT.
