City Theatrical

The hottest DMX test unit on the show floor this year continued to be City Theatrical’s DMXcat. (But if you are still looking for one City T has an LDIShow Special good through the end of the year! - Contact your local Barbizon for details.)

The biggest innovation in wireless technology is here in Multiverse – up to nine universes of DMX transmitted wirelessly from one device – it even includes native DMX Cat integration! And of course, it is compatible with the Show DMX system.

Multiverse comes to us in four products:

Multiverse Transmitter:

-Four radios: Bluetooth and Wi-Fi for inputs (DMX Cat and apps ala Luminair), 900MHz and 2.4GHz for Multiverse wireless DMX/RDM output
-Ethernet input for Streaming ACN and Art-Net
-All setup and user choices made with our free DMXcat app
-Rugged cast aluminum enclosure
-A hanging bracket is included for hanging from a pipe or truss

Multiverse Node:

-Built-in 2.4GHz (for worldwide use) and 900MHz (for use in the Americas only) radios allow the user to select which single universe to transmit on, and which radio band to transmit on via the SHoW ID
-Single universe receiver that allows user to select the desired universe
-A very simple user interface to set SHoW ID and universe
-Rugged cast aluminum enclosure
-A single dual band antenna
-XLR input and output
-A hanging bracket for hanging from pipe or truss
-Optional yoke mount bracket
-Optional battery pack

Multiverse Gateway:

-Four radios: Bluetooth and Wi-Fi for inputs (DMX Cat and apps ala Luminair), 900MHz and 2.4GHz for wireless DMX/RDM output.
-Ethernet input for Streaming ACN and Art-Net
-All setup and user choices made with our free DMXcat app
-Rugged cast aluminum enclosure
-A hanging bracket is included for hanging from a pipe or truss
- 8 universes of DMX output

Multiverse Module

The Multiverse Module is a tiny circuit board mounted device for lighting manufacturers that allows them to utilize all of the benefits of a wireless lighting system built directly into their fixture – ask your favorite manufacturer if this is of interest to you!

Lumen Radio

From concert arenas to movie sets, from ballrooms to bridges. Lumen Radio's award-winning CRMX™ products for professional lighting offers a solution for every scenario. There are products that are flexible that can either transmit or receive data and others that are dedicated. There is even a USB version to transmit DMX.

OEM versions are available for manufacturers to add to their products to make their fixtures wirelessly controllable.

An interesting development is Lumen Radio's new IoT control platform. Named "Mira", this IoT platform that provides a wireless mesh network with unprecedented scalability and reliability to an unlimited number of nodes. The Mira network is a self-healing multi-hop network system that operates on the worldwide license-free 2.4GHz ISM band.

It is designed for architecture and connected store applications and with their patented Future-Proof Coexistence Connectivity technologies, they can enable connectivity that can safely co-exist with other wireless technologies, not being interfered or causing interference.

Mira can be deployed in heavily congested radio environments, can scale up to several thousands of nodes and LumenRadio’s commissioning feature allows an easy setup for both networks and user applications.

Rat Pac Dimmers

RatPac was excited about their RATPAC 12 X 200W DIMMER. This is specifically made for 120V LED tubes and low wattage applications. The 12 x 200 Watt dims smoothly from0 - 100%, has a built-in wireless transceiver, and USB out for convenient phone charging.

While the line was originally developed for film/video applications we are starting to see it used in other applications because of its durability and ease of use.

All of their dimmers are also wireless. You can control wirelessly using their Cintenna Wireless receivers and their AKS DMX Wireless system. This will allow control of your lighting system for up to 1 universe per set, from your iPhone or Tablet.

RC4 Wireless

RC4 Wireless is about "living life untethered". Their line of wireless dimmers that use batteries for power and wireless DMX for control, allows designers to put lighting in costumes, props, and set pieces. Controlled from your DMX console, seamlessly integrated into your scenes and cues, RC4 devices are as responsive and robust as any other fixture in your show, and transparent to the lighting designer.

Their RC5 DMXioExtended Area Super Secureproducts providethe largest coverage area with the highest level of secure data encryption in the world. The system broadcasts with up to 1W of RF power, RC5 systems have covered entire theme parks.

256-bit AES encryption ensures an uncrackable and unhackable data stream.Even the RC4MagicPC link for remote device configuration is encrypted.

RC4 also was showing the all-new SX series of products. Smoother dimming, improved AC wave synthesization and color matching improve the award-winning line of products.

Additionally, RC4 launched its new RC4 Commander software that allows simple straightforward configuration of the extensive features built into RC4 devices and was being demonstrated in their booth.

Swisson

SWISSON manufactures a wide range of DMX and RDM products as well as Sine Wave Dimming/Power Management solutions.

xsh-smallThe XSH Hybrid Splitter allows for distributing power and a DMX signal to within one single unit. The XSH features a powerCon 20A input and an XLR input and four pairs of powerCon 20A and XLR outputs. This combination comes especially handy with modern DMX setups where cable sets with XLR and powerCon connectors are run together from fixture to fixture. A built-in amp meter which makes it a breeze to keep track of the amount of power that is consumed, allowing its user to take action before the cables or input circuit are overloaded. With the RDM option, it is also possible to remotely monitor the current draw.

xwl_01_resize_275x183_86_255x255x255The XWL Wireless DMX Transmitter and Receiver provide an effective means of transmitting a single universe of DMX and are compatible with CRMX (Lumen Radio) or W-DMX (Wireless Solution). A broader ranging solution is the XSW Wireless DMX Splitter which functions as both a transmitter / receiver and adds a splitter with additional 4 ports of DMX output - your choice of either 3 or 5 pin XLRs

ISP-4 is a 4 port Din-Rail mounted DMX Opto splitter, available with terminal or RJ-45 connection, and optional RDM protocol
