Kinotehnik has introduced the Practilite 602. The 602 is a versatile bright LED Fresnel lighting fixture that comes with an app for smartphones and is Bluetooth capable. This remote function is cost-effective and useful for single-person shooters or small crews when a gaffer is not available. The Practilite 602 makes event lighting, documentary shooting and field interviews more efficient as managing the lighting setup and adjustments are made with greater ease. The 602's unique fresnel lens design provides greater light range than conventional LED fixtures and enables superior color mixing. The lensing also allows wider shot angles and precise light-shaping without losing the LED output power/throw which is typically the case with barndoor controlled fixtures. This compact and powerful fresnel light is designed to gather and throw as much light as possible through its 3.2" 80mm fresnel lens, providing you with unprecedented size to light output ratio. The variable color temperature allows operators to adjust to a variety of color temperatures that each shooting location requires. From tungsten to daylight or any lighting situation in between, you just dial in the matching color balance and required brightness from your smartphone. https://www.kinotehnik.com/

The LiteGear LiteTile product line is a blend of LiteMat LED engines in an engineered textile housing. This unique form factor allows a user to install thin, soft, Hybrid light into previously unavailable areas. The LiteTile uses the new CineMitter LED which has 95+ CRI, and an extended CCT range from 2600K to 6000K . Each individual LiteTile (2‘x4‘ or 2‘x8‘) is finished with hook and loop Velcro® and can attach, or “tile” together to form any number of shapes and sizes. LiteTile can easily rig into existing grip or butterfly frames, or as an alternative, they can be used separately to attach to anything like a drop-ceiling or directly to a set wall. The unique shape of LiteTile allows the fixture to fold like a paper map into the size of a LiteMat 1. This unique folding method makes storage and transportation a breeze. Lite Gear Website
Creating a buzz at the show was Litegear's LiteBox, the perfect accessory for your new LiteTile+ Plus. This modular system is designed so that you can mount your LiteTile to a lightweight rigid frame and then have the option of diffusing the LEDs at 1 inch (2.5 cm) or 6 inches (15 cm) away. LiteBox comes with the same three, familiar diffusers as LiteMat — so you can always integrate them together — and opaque fabric sides to eliminate spill light when used in the 6-inch deep version. For rigging, LiteBox is surrounded by 1/4”-20 PEM® nuts and comes with an optional 5/8” baby pin adapter or grip head mounts. Litegear also brought several pieces of gear to NAB this year that won’t be released until this summer, but brought a lot of interest to their booth. The LiteMat Plus 8 is the largest and newest iteration of the popular LiteMat line. It's a 4’ x 4’ bi-color LED light source that only draws 400 watts. It can be powered by battery or AC and is controllable via DMX. It has front mount accessories available, like the Snapgrid, and it can be hung or velcroed to a wall, or mounted on a stand using its center ball mount. They are also making an LED retrofit for the KinoFlo Image 80, 85, 87, and Flathead fluorescent fixtures. Using the existing frame and yoke, the light engine installs over the existing reflector using 4 screws. Also included is a new power supply/controller where you can choose tungsten, daylight, visual effects green or visual effects blue. Perfect as a large soft source or chromakey light. The LiteMat Spectrum brings camera compliant RGBW to the game to the LiteMat line. Color balancing available from 2000k to 11,000K. It has full spectrum color available, and color can be desaturated using the white light that you have color balanced to. The controller allows you to select the type of camera you are shooting with to ensure compliance. It also is controllable with onboard wireless DMX. http://www.litegear.com/
Litepanels showed their new Astra 1X1 Soft Bi-Color. This fixture is available exclusively in Bi-Color and gives you the output of a soft light but in a flat panel form factor. It has a higher intensity, and with this soft light, you get a much wider area than what you usually get from a single fixture - output is comparable to a 2K Tungsten or 575W HMI. Litepanels also showed their new product, ‘Manfrotto, Powered by Litepanels’. This is a series of on-camera (Spectra 2, MicroPro 2 and Croma 2) and half-panel LED lights (Lykos). The Croma 2 is a bi-color light that takes the potential of the original Croma and doubles the output, achieving twice the brightness of the original using Sony L-Series Batteries. The Micropro 2 is a daylight LED solution that also manages to achieve twice the brightness of the original Micropro whilst powered by a Sony L-Series Battery. The Spectra 2 doubles the performance and brightness of its predecessor, making it a fantastic value for photo and video professionals seeking an efficient, portable lighting solution. The Lykos Bi-Color and Daylight fixtures are the flagship product of the series and have the ergonomics to be operated with one hand. This unit is as bright as the original Litepanel 1x1 and half the size. http://www.litepanels.com
Litepanels launched a new 2’ x 1’ softlight this year called Gemini. The Litepanels Gemini 2x1 LED soft panel provides a beautiful and wide source of soft, color accurate, full spectrum Daylight and Tungsten lighting. Gemini allows users quick and easy precision adjustment of light with three fully featured lighting modes; CCT Mode for true daylight and tungsten with +/- green fine-tuning, HSI Mode for total control over hue, saturation and intensity to create any color in the 360 color wheel at any intensity from 0-100% and Gel Mode to easily replicate the industry’s most popular gel sets with a daylight or tungsten source. The Gemini is truly versatile with its intuitive onboard controls and remote control options via standard DMX 512 protocol, wireless DMX or Bluetooth and can adapt to any lighting situation today’s Cinematographers and lighting professionals will find themselves in. The manual control knobs are sensitive to the speed of rotation and can either be finely tuned or when ramped up can adjust very quickly. Together with its lightweight design with built-in power supply, and full intensity mobile power operation, via 3pin XLR, the Gemini offers rapid rigging with fewer cables making it the perfect location light.
Litepanel’s booth was flashing this year, displaying their all new Gemini 1x1 Soft RGBWW LED panel. If you are familiar with the Gemini 2 x 1 this is the skinnier version.
