Brightline has made upgrading existing conference rooms a breeze with its LED Micro-T line. With low power consumption, these fixtures can be fed using the POE of a network switch allowing for an easier installation and or reconfiguring of office building floors. With accessoriesincluding control stations, the self-contained system has features not easily obtained previously.

Chauvet Professional

Chauvet Professional headed to NAB this year with their line of video walls, fixtures, and control for content creators.

They had their line of LED profile, fresnel, and wash lights, many with IP 65 ratings for outdoor use.

Chauvet'sOvation E-260WW / E-260CW profile fixtures are powered by a single source LED that exceeds the output of a 750 W tungsten light source. This warm or cool white ERS-style fixture boasts extremely smooth dimming down to the very bottom of the curve as well as a flat and even field of light for superior gobo projection. Control options like selectable PWM, RDM, and selectable dimming curves round out this virtually silent ellipsoidal. The Ovation E-260WW is also available in a white housing to blend into architectural applications.

Chauvet also recentlycompleted the acquisition of ChamSys Ltd., the Southampton, UK-based designer, and manufacturer of lighting controllers. At NAB they were showing the new MagicQ MQ500 which features multi-touchdisplays in full HD with adjustable viewing angle and gesture support.

The MQ500 Stadium has inbuilt MagicVis 3D visualiser with high quality beam and gobo rendering.

The MQ500 Stadium supports up to 200 universes onboard direct from the console without the need for external processing. MagicHD media server runs on board enabling pixelmapping to all 200 universes.

Cineo has designed the ultimate creative lighting tool — the Quantum c80.

The Qc80givesprofessionals the unique ability to independentlycontrol the dimming curve, white light, colored light, and saturation. Stop worrying about color and light variance from one session to the next. The intuitive controls ofQc80allow for predictable, repeatable results.Qc80’sphosphor-converted saturated color LEDs work with the phosphor recipes in the white LEDs to create a balanced, natural-looking spectrum. Combining Cineo’s award-winning white-light quality with innovative saturated color technology, the Qc80delivers up to 50,000 lumens of beautiful, easily controllable, full-gamut light.

The Qc80 boasts a substantial 2’ x 4’ diffused illuminating surface, weighing less than 50 lbs., with a maximum power of 800 watts.

Creating beautiful light within an extended color gamut is only part of the story. Cineo has developed an intuitive control strategy that allows predictable, repeatable results, either using the graphical control panel or remotely with wired or built-in wireless CRMX control.

The strategy is simple: four controls or four DMX channels control the entire fixture in a single mode of operation:

MasterCineo’s Photo-Accurate Dimming maps the 0-100% dimming curve to actual camera stops for precise output control using the MASTER control locally or on the second DMX channel.

White – For color-accurate white light, choose the CCT as you would with any Cineo fixture, using the WHITE rotary control or the rst DMX channel.

Color – To optionally add saturated color, the COLOR control adjusts the hue, the color of which is displayed on the control panel or managed on the third DMX channel.

Blend – Controls the amount of saturated color to be added to the white light, from full white to fully saturated color.

With the Qc80, the same color shading can be achieved regardless of the CCT used for photography. For example, +2 Green added to 3200K CCTwill look the same as +2 Green at 5600K to the correctly white- balanced camera.

In addition to our proprietary phosphor-converted white light LEDs, we developed phosphor-converted saturated color LEDs. These work with the phosphor recipes in the white LEDs to create a balanced, natural-looking spectrum featuring Cineo’s deep-red color rendering technology. The saturated color LEDs use the exact same dies as the white LEDs, allowingall light-emitting elements of the Qc80 tocarry identical thermal stability, and perform over time with identical differential aging. After years of service, we guarantee that our color stability remains consistent.

Clear Com

ClearCom continues to impress with their new line of Digital Partyline Beltpacks. The Helixnet Main Station and Helixnet Beltpack are now network enabled devices. This means that users can transmit up to 24 channels of intercom communication over a Power Over Ethernet network and to the beltpack which can select 2 channels of bi-directional communication. This system will be useful for end users with a building-wide network because they will not have to pull separate intercom wire to integrate the system.

Creamsource by Outsight

Creamsource was honored with the NAB Best of Show for Digital Video products with the introduction of the Creamsource Micro. The high CRI (90+) Variable Color Temperature fixture deserves the attention it is receiving. The Micro is half the size of the Mini measuring only 8.7” x 8.1” x 4.1” and weighing only 5.5 lbs. The Micro is fully IP65 rated and ready to go anywhere! The Micro delivers constant power output across the range of Color Temperature adjustment (2700K – 6500K) so you do not sacrifice output for variable color temperature. The 10V – 32V operating range allows the fixture to be powered from the power supply (included), V-lock or Gold Mount portable batteries, or even from a 12V car battery. The native 13° beam created by the LED emitters can be softended using one of the available accessories: 30° drop in lens, 60° drop in lens, or Snap-Bag Softbox. Add this fixture to your portable kit for a go anywhere fixture for any application.

Dedotec USA, Inc

When you think precision, you think Dedolight. At NAB, they showed a new version of the DLED focusing dual-lens fixture with higher output. The DLED10-D (daylight) and DLED10-BI (bicolor) consume 300W and 220W respectively. With long zoom range, great color rendering, universal power supply, and a range of accessories, it is a nice expansion to the line.

DeSisti Lighting

DeSisti continues to innovate with its SoftLED Series. The series now includes four sizes, the SoftLED 1, 2, 4 & 8. All come in both Variable White and single color with Remote Phosphor. With a high CRI, low profile and built-in power supplies there is surely plenty of uses for these fixtures. As well as showing off these units, all of their fixtures now come with a Variable White option.

Another interesting thing that was released was the ability to get some of DeSisti’s smaller units with a track adapter, allowing for even more versatility in a permanent installation. These can be mounted to data track and all of their fixtures ship standard with full RDM implementation for easy configuration and system monitoring.

Draco Broadcast

Dracast CinerayDraco broadcast has emerged one of the versatile and economical product lines covering a wide range of uses from camera mounts, lighting, wireless systems, teleprompters, and even batteries.

Dracast Lighting showed their new line ofCineray LED panels at the show, available in single and bi-color along with several flavors for powering, including battery mounts. The Cineray Series takes the technology that has gone into their Pro, Studio, and Plus panels, and incorporated it into their slimmest profile light yet designed from the ground up as a high-output, soft source lightforstudio or location.

DSC Labs

DSC has long been the go-to company for color-accurate reference charts. Their consistency and quality in the printing of reference charts large and small for content creation everywhere from broadcast to corporate and medical had set them apart. DSC's ScreenAlign Calibration puck is an interesting visual comparison tool to help you calibrate monitors. Each control box can have up to 6 combinations of color temperature and brightness. Calibration settings range from 5000k-6500k and two luminance levels of 100nits (for standard monitors) and 1000nits for HDR displays.

Now they've taken their reference management to screen with their ScreenAlign Calibration puck. Designed as a visual comparison tool to help you calibrate monitors each control box allows for up to 6 combinations of color temperature and brightness and their calibration settings can range from 5000k-6500k and two luminance levels of 100nits (for standard monitors) and 1000nits for HDR displays.

No Film School did a neat report demonstrating it.
