AC Lighting

Follow-Me is a cost-effective Art-Net based calibration software package that utilizes moving lights as follow-spots. Not only can Follow-Me be used to follow one or more performers with multiple moving heads but individual fixture selection offers the additional functionality of preset positioning for solo’s and surprise performances. Follow-Me offers a range of advantages over traditional follow spot usage. Lower labor costs, freedom in lamp positioning, improved follow-spot angles, eliminating kill seats, offering accurate timing for color bump cues, following performers with gobo effects or color chases. Follow-Me also solves weight issues on smaller roofs where typical truss seats Inc. operators are too heavy or deep to implement. AC was also highlighting their new ProLights fixture line.

The breaks the limits of LED technology applied into ellipsoidal fixtures, offering a full spectrum chromatic reproduction and keeping high color consistency, as well as a precise white emulation from Tungsten to Neutral White tones. ECLIPSE FC features a RGB + Lime Green light source, in order to increase the lumen output in white tints and complete the color rendering with colors that were not reachable with luminaires of previous generations.

ECLIPSE FC is an exceptional multi-purpose workhorse to be applied everywhere, offering colors, white reproduction, and high brightness all in one fixture.

From their Chroma Q line, theBrute Forceis a new fixturethat is fully dimmable and utilizes multiple Chroma-Q Studio Force II engines.

Airstar



Airstar America continues to manufacture high quality small-medium sized lighting balloons. Across three different departments (Event, Film, Safety) they provide LED, Tungsten, and HMI sources for a variety of different shapes and sizes. Debuting this year are the new NEO line. 16.4’ Long, 8.4” Diameter lighting tubes. Available in both Cool White and RGBW, they can be connected together to create complex shapes, or used separately, creating visual lines that radiate light.

Altman Lighting

Altman had their new AP-150-RGBW LED Par at LDI this year. The AP-150 is a compact, lightweight 135 Watt RGBW LED par wash light that is packed with a high feature set at an affordable price. This compact par weighs in at just 11 pounds / 5.08 kg. The AP-150-RGBW offers a number of different controls from 8 Bit, 16 Bit, RGB, and HSIC, modes allowing for a number of control choices.

Factory and custom color presets round out the AP-150-RGBW’s feature set allowing for a quick selection of factory preloaded White set points and the most widely used entertainment color choices. Also adds the ability to record color presets from the DMX controller directly to the fixture for custom color playback.

American DJ

ADJ had a couple of IP rated fixtures to add to the mix:

The 32 HEX Panel IP (also the 32 HEX Panel IP Pearl) is an IP65 rated wash/blinder fixture with 32 12w HEX LEDs. This RGBWAUV fixture has the ability to pixel map over 8 zones and has a beam angle of 24 degrees. The HEX Panel includes a removable filter frame and a magnetic diffuser.



Similarly, in the HEX family, the 7P HEX IP has the same colors as the 32, with only 7 12watt LEDs. This Par fixture has a 30-degree beam angle and communicates over 3 pin DMX.

In the non-IP rated fixtures, we start with the Hydro Beam X2, with a beam angle of 3 degrees, is a moving head fixture with a 370W LL discharge lamp with 10 colors plus color correction at 3200K and 5600K and open white. It features 8 gobos (5 glass, 3 metal) and three gobo reducers, all fully rotating. Also included in this fixture is an 8 facet circular prism and an 8 facet linear prism.

The Par Z Move is a 200W warm white LED wash unit with a zoom range of 9-43 degrees. This fixture communicates over 3 Pin and 5 Pin DMX and has an external diffuser slot.

ADJ COB Cannon WashThe COB Cannon Wash ST is a 150watt RGBA LED fixture with an 80-degree beam angle. This fixture is similar to the Wash DW, just shorter. It includes a lens kit to convert the beam angle to either 40 degrees or 50 degrees. Communication is done over 3pin or 5pin DMX and weighing only 9 pounds, its light output at 2 meters is a stunning 1970 LUX.

The Par ZP120 RGBW fixture is similar to the previously released ZP120, with now the added function of color! This modern par can has a 115w quad COB LED, output comparable to a 1000w par. Inside the housing, there is an adjustable slider for beam angle control from 7 to 25 degrees. Another great feature is that it includes 64 color macros for easy manual plug and play operation.

Antari

At this year’s show, in addition to their standard line of foggers and hazers, Antari displayed their new low fog generator –the DNG-250. Compared to its previous version (DNG-200), the DNG-250 has been upgraded to a more powerful heating element and more efficient refrigerationsystems. This helps it to produce a higher volume of fog and achieve even better low fog effects.

Apollo Design Technology

Apollo Design Technology showed their new line of SuperResolution® Gobos that double the resolution below 50mm providingblack & white or grayscale photographs or graphics with intricate detail. Apollo recently posted a video explaining the improvements.

Arri

Arri StellarARRI has introduced their new lighting control app called Stellar. It is compatible with L-Series and SkyPanel fixtures and connects wirelessly through SkyLink. The user interface is intuitive and easy to use. The app uses RDM to automatically discover and address ARRI fixtures. You can import a light plot diagram, group fixtures, and store scenes. The app is $99.99 yearly and works with iPhones (5.5” and up) and IPads (9.7” and up) and IOS 11 and up.

Astera

Astera Titan TubeTitan Tube was specially designed for the Film, Broadcasting and Cinema industries. Optimized for an ultra-high TLCI, a very high CRI and peak brightness, colors as well as Hue, Saturation and Intensity can be set directly on the tube. The Titan Tube accepts both wireless and wired DMX via a special power/data combination cable. Each Titan Tube has 16 individually controllable pixels. LED emitters offer a range of Tunable White from 1,750K to 20,000K. Within that range, users will find Ultra High Color Rendering with a TLCI =96, CRI =96, CRI Re=90 from 3200K to 6500K. A display on the back provides access to DMX setup, colors, hue, saturation, and intensity control.

Avolites

Avolites was highlighting their Titan V11 Software upgrade at LDI including the Titan v11 Remote App.

The Titan Remote works alongside your Avolites Titan lighting console to provide moving light control from your iPhone, iPod Touch or Android device.
To use the Titan Remote you must have an Avolites Titan console connected to your device via a WiFi network. Titan Remote V11 works with any Titan Console running Titan Version 11 to connect to consoles running older Titan versions use the corresponding Titan Remote app.

Using this app you can connect to a console, Titan Mobile or Titan One PC and carry out the following functions:
· Select and control fixtures
· Modify fixture attributes such as Dimmer, Pan or Tilt
· Apply Palettes
· Create and update palettes
· Play Cues
· Command style fixture selection and intensity control
· Quick Sketch Legends
· View DMX Address Patch

Any number of Titan remotes can be connected to a console and another lighting designer can work on the console while the remote is in use. The remote is easy to use as the screens look and feel like the full Avolites consoles with the same buttons and workflow as the console.
