Lectrosonics

Lectrosonics was featuring their Duet IEM System - 24-bit digital audio, low latency, and a compact, lightweight, diversity bodypack unit. The new system consists of the M2T dual-stereo half-rack transmitter and M2R diversity belt pack receiver. Utilizing UHF frequencies between 470-608 MHz (138 MHz) in a single range, digital modulation for transmission, and can accept analog or Dante™ digital inputs. The new system can be considered a "wireless IEM" or a deluxe IFB product, designed and developed with professional touring, installation, theater, filmmaking and broadcast customers in mind. Lee Filters

With a lifespan of up to 200 times longer than standard lighting filters, the new Zircon range is designed to last. Lee Filter’s Research and Development team has developed a new way of producing filters that ensure they last longer when used with LED lights. Manufactured using a 180-micron material, they are more than double the thickness of a normal lighting filter.

There are 12 filters in the Zircon range; the five Minus Green filters remove the green casts often associated with LED lighting when using a digital camera. The four Warm Amber filters correct a range of different color temperature white LED so that they appear like Tungsten, while the three Diffusion filters offer different strengths of diffusion specifically designed for LEDs. Available in 4ft x 10ft rolls, 24in x 24in sheets and 12in x 12in Lighting Packs.

Lee Filters now has two apps available:

The new Lee Swatch app puts the complete range of Lee lighting filters on one screen and features a color picker so you can build palettes anytime. The app also features many of the tools on Lee Filter’s website, redesigned for use on a smartphone, including: Find a Dealer, Diffusion Finder, Gel Comparator, and Colour Temperature Calculator.

The Official Lee Filters Diffusion Comparator enables lighting designers to directly compare different diffusions lighting a model. The comparator is built from video clips of a real-world lighting setup using a single M8 source and each and every diffusion in the Lee range.

Available for download from the Apple App Store and Android App on Google Play.

LeMaitre

Aside from some pyro excitement, they were excited about their SMART technology that is making its way into their units. Mainly their most popular G300 Smart (Fogger) and MVS Smart (Hazer).

For the G300 SMART it features its Internet of Things (IoT) capability that supports Wi-Fi and LAN connectivity for Set-up, monitoring, and diagnostics. The network capabilities also allow for flexibility in setting and changing the unit's configuration via a mobile device. The user can also set interval, durations and pre-delay times as well as set flow level, turn the unit on or off and do a diagnostic run as well.

For the MVS Smart functionality lets the unit control 2 variable speed fans which control projection and direction of the haze stream form 0-90 degrees. It also has an oscillating mode that you can program for automated back and forth sweeps.

Lightronics

Lightronics offers a wide range of lighting solutions - ranging everywhere from the lighting fixture to dimming, programming, and controls. This year Lightronics was showcasing an LED house light that is currently in prototype. The fixture will likely be available in both 2700K and 4000K color temperatures as well as options for DMX, RJ45 as well as Phoenix connector options for getting control into the fixture. The fixture houses a 100W emitter with a 50W PSU - at full intensity, this fixture only pulls a mere 150W. There will also be shroud and recess kit options available as well as hanging options to be yoke mount and threaded rod with lens options being 25, 40 and 60 degrees. The unit itself is flicker-free and has a very nice dimming curve that slows down dramatically at the bottom end.

LiteGear

LiteGear showed the benefits of their new CineMitter series of applied phosphor LEDs. Exclusive to LiteGear, these new emitters set the standard for cinematic, color-correct LED lighting. Efficient, and full-spectrum, these LED chips offer state-of-the-art output with a 40% increase in brightness over VHO Pro. Another distinct feature of the CineMitter is the extended Kelvin range. LiteGear pushed the lower CCT to 2600 degrees Kelvin (K) allowing for candlelight or deep-tungstenoutput while increasing the CRI to a staggering 95+ — that’s nearly indistinguishable from traditional incandescent sources! On the cool side, the CCT was pushed up to 6000K to better balance for overcast sky or cool white fluorescents. This increase in CCT still achieves a CRI of 95+ and provides beautiful, full-spectrum daylight. CineMitter is now standard on LiteMat S2, LiteMat+ Plus, LiteTile — and coming soon to LiteRibbon.

Speaking of LiteMats, the new LiteMat+ Plus series of LED lightfixtures is the ideal luminaire for set lighting and rental company inventories. LiteMat+ Plus incorporates everything you love about LiteMat, features thenew CineMitter, and adds somedistinctly new features. The most notable change is the PL7 lockingconnection system, which happens to be the same for every size of LiteMat+ Plus, and the new LiteDimmer+ Plus series of dimmers with built-in camera battery mounts.

LiteDimmer Universal is a professional, cinema-grade,icker-free, LED DMX dimmer. This standard capacity (8A total), o ers both manual and remote dimming inone. The LiteDimmer Universal is designed to work with Single, Hybrid, RGB, andRGBW/A LiteRibbon, has an operating voltage from 12VDC to 48VDC, and allows foradjustable PWM. LiteDimmer Universal-W offers all of the same features of the Universal dimmer but adds the feature of built-in wireless DMX. Using genuine LumenRadio CRMX technology ensures compatibility with LumenRadio CRMX and Wireless SolutionW-DMX transmitters.

LiteGear also presented a check for $7750 representing a percentage of the profits from sales of their new flagship fixtures, LiteMat+ Plus, to support the Behind the Scenes Charity.

Upon presenting the check, LiteGear CEO, Al DeMayo, stated “We are very proud to be part of such a great charity. The support for entertainment industry members is an admirable cause that LiteGear can really get behind.”

Tobin Neis of the BTS Foundation Board of Directors commented, “Behind the Scenes is thrilled to have LiteGear as a part of our Pledge-a-Product program and for their first year they and their customers have made a wonderful contribution that will go far to help entertainment technicians in times of crisis.”

Litepanels

Litepanels was founded in 2001 by a group of Hollywood-based lighting designers and directors who pioneered LED lighting for motion pictures, television, and the audio-visual industry. Since their inception, Litepanels has grown their product portfolio and innovated new technology to become an industry leader in lighting solutions.

At LDI, Litepanels revealed the new improved versions of their popular Astra and Sola fixtures boasting an incredible 50 percent increase in output. The new Astra 6X is six times brighter than the original 1x1 model while the Astra 3X is three times brighter. Compared with their predecessors, the daylight-balanced Sola 4+ LED Fresnel offers a greater than 120 percent increase in output while the new Sola 6+ has an incredible 50 percent increase.

By far the most talked about product at their booth was the brand-new Gemini 2x1 LED soft panel. Staying true to the Litepanels legacy, the Gemini has accurate full spectrum Daylight and Tungsten lighting. The Gemini also allows for additional quick and easy adjustment by offering full-featured 3 lighting modes full color with hue and saturation control all which allow for the intensity to be controlled anywhere from 100%-0 at all times. This fixture is without a doubt something to witness and not only rich in color but in features, making the Gemini a must have for any broadcast lighting application.
