GE has two Cinema lamps that are perfect for Film and TV. The Linear lamp which is used in Cinematography type fixtures like Kino Flo and Bron fixtures and the HLBX lamp used in newer fixtures like the ARRI and Mole Richardson types, are both color corrected and film friendly. They match the spectral sensitivity of both Daylight and Tungsten film stocks.

The StudioBiax CFL lamp is perfect for live TV broadcasts and has all performance characteristics needed in this application, long, life, high light output, good lumen maintenance and color matched to other tungsten light sources.

Both the Linear and HLBX Cinema lamps are unique in the sense that they are gell free products. The *color compensation filter value limit is +/-5 which means these are near perfect light sources when used in film applications. They also possess high light output and are cost effective. They are fully compatible with existing cinematography fixtures so no additional costs are or fixtureing is needed.

GE recommends changing the Linear and HLBX lamps after 2000 hours because the light level drops below 80% of initial light output even though the actual burning time will be longer. The Studiobiax lamp has a life 10,000 hours.
