The Ocean Optics Sea Changer is a new, innovative, and cleverly packaged way to manipulate the color of light. This is the next iteration of the color scroller with an unlimited palette of colors. It comes in two versions. The dimmer wheel (SEA-SF) version is an excellent way to control light output for Source Fours that have CDM ballasts or when using an HMI cap as a light source. This allows the light to be easily dimmed without using a shutter mechanism. The other version, Extreme Green (SEA-XG), extends the color palette to include deeper blues, reds, and more vibrant greens.

The Sea Changer is currently available only for the ETC Source Four Ellipsoidal. Its shape extends the fixture but is low profile so it can fit where other color changers may not. With a very quiet integral power supply, the Sea Changer is basically plug and play.At over $2,000 per unit, a budget is definitely needed, but the upside is NEVER needing to change scrolls again or having to be tied to external power supplies. These bonuses may offset the price.
