| Wybron's new Transition Fiber Optic Illuminator can be used in film, theater and architectural applications. In the past there were limitations on the type of fiber, color, and brightness. Now if you are looking to do a star-drop can use our 150 watt unit and plug plastic fiber straight into the unit, meaning less cost and hassle. The Illuminator is great for fiber curtains, star drops, department store displays, window display lighting, museum boxes, fiber panels, rock and roll drops, small scale models, and food display lighting. What makes this product unique is its brightness and you can use a 150 watt CDM or a HMI lamp. There are three different model types available: The 8675 which has full CMY color mixing, a dowser inside and a twinkle wheel, the 8670 which has full CMY mixing with a dowser, but no twinkle wheel and the 8677 which is a fixed color unit where a 2" round piece of diachronic can be put inside for retail and architectural applications. The unit has a built in fan that keeps the unit cool, and is very quiet. It also has an integration rod built in to refract the light into the fiber and reduce the heat so that you can go directly into with plastic fiber bundles without burning it (as long as the end of the bundle is clean and the fiber is relatively new.) There are two new standard size ports, 38mm and 30mm but can go custom for as small as 17mm and as large as 38mm. The unit itself is compact, so it can be easily incorporated into existing sets and cases or be put into new ones from the start with less area around it than other units might need. The Unit is also RDM (Remote Device Management) ready. An end user can use an RDM interface like the Wybron InfoTrace to address the unit and check status from a remote location. The Transition Fiber Optic Illuminator is a very competitively priced item. Competing units tend to run too hot and melt plastic fiber if a glass barrier isn't in place, or they are too loud, not bright enough or don't have the entire package of options (twinkle wheel, CMY color changer, dowser, RDM). | | Click here for more information | |
