Barbizon New York Announces Console Training Aug 21-23

Barbizon Lighting will be kicking off a series of targeted console trainings on August 21st through the 23rd!

Our first class is aimed at programmers, operators and designers familiar with legacy ETC consoles – the Express, Expression and Obsession series – who have recently switched, or are considering switching to the EOS family of lighting control.

This class will focus on the Element console, which replaces the Express line.  However, many of the concepts and techniques covered will apply to ION and EOS as well.

Attendees of this training should have a basic familiarity with the control concepts and language of older ETC consoles, and be prepared to learn the differences and improvements now available in a hands-on, interactive training session.  Don’t be deterred if you are not an “expert” programmer – if you know the difference between a dimmer and a channel and what a cue list is, this is probably the class for you!

Concepts covered will include:

  • Click this to Watch the Patching of conventional and automated fixtures
  • Advanced methods of channel selection and manipulation
  • Using new features of groups and submasters
  • Creating and utilizing multiple cue stacks
  • Moving light and color-changing control
  • Links and Loops
  • Selective Cue Timing
  • Absolute and Referenced Data
  • Display capabilities and options
  • ETC Control Networking

Classes will be offered on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, the 21st-23rd of August.  Each day’s class will begin at 9:00 AM and end at 5:30 PM with a break for lunch.

Class size will be limited to 6 people per day to ensure that everyone attending is able to use a console.  If more than one person from your organization would like to attend, please provide names for each attendee.

If you are interested in this or other training subjects but cannot attend this session, please let us know and we will do our best to accommodate your training needs!
