Project Manager - Denver, CO

Barbizon Lighting Company has an immediate full time opening, based in Denver, Colorado, for a Project Manager.

Responsibilities of the position include:

  • Oversee the coordination of all phases of Systems projects
  • Responsible for all aspects of project after its sale. Oversees submittal drawings, scheduling, and purchase orders.
  • Responsible for coordination and sequencing with all trades, manufacturers and end users.
  • Responsible for quality and cost control of project. See project through to final project closeout
  • Maintain Job Costing through MAS 200 Accounting System
  • Maintain all communications regarding projects assigned
  • Confirm all pricing established by Sales person and order all items.
  • Attend site meetings
  • Track shipments
  • Bill customers according to negotiated terms
  • Track costs and billings
  • Estimate projects
  • Primary contact for all vendors, subcontactors and customers
  • Assist in creating bids and quotes for system sales
  • Coordinate and create a weekly update of all systems projects
  • Manage and maintain all project binders and related drawings
  • Successful Completion of the project to customer's satisfaction
  • Job Release, coordination of submittal drawings
  • Coordination with Contractors and Manufacturers
  • Management of projects and construction documentation using software tools.
  • On-Site Project Management
  • Anticipation and resolution of problems
  • Project Cost control
  • Preparation of post project profitability reports
  • Maintain training and education necessary to project management
  • Examine projects for any potential holes and over looked items
  • Compare with sales spreadsheet for accuracy
  • Procurement of equipment at appropriate times for appropriate delivery
  • Track communications
  • Attend meetings- communicate with others
  • Review and correct submittals
  • Track /Coordinate shipments and deliveries
  • Maintain relationships with clients
  • Track dollars on projects
  • Help others in office estimate future projects
  • Produce Risers
  • Generate subcontracts for work to be performed.
  • Review methodology
  • Take all needed measurements to assure that the materials ordered will fit and be able to be installed correctly
  • Point out any problems or conflicts to customer and request solution
  • Collection letters and calls for delinquent payments
  • Collect Operation and Maintenance manuals for O&M submittal to customer
  • Multi-task 8-12 projects at a time
  • Checking Invoices we receive from vendors against the PO issued from Barbizon
  • Facilitate the resolution of conflicts and change orders for the successful completion of the project
  • Field work including but not limited to: Ladder work, Fixture Hang and Focus, Electrical Connections and Troubleshooting, Unloading, Lifting and Hoisting
Qualified candidate will have:
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, AutoCAD.
  • Organized
  • Ability to get along with others
  • Ability to multitask and manage time efficiently
  • Ability to read blueprints
  • Knowledge of entertainment control systems
  • Knowledge of electricity and rigging
  • Capable to learn quickly
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Good work habits and organizational skills
  • Strong technical understanding of current lighting and or rigging technology
  • Product , Construction and Industry Knowledge
  • Trouble shooting
  • Capacity to understand when you are in over your head and ask for help
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to see the big picture and prioritize tasks.
  • Requires a valid drivers license and car, and ability and willingness to use them for work purposes
  • Prior Theatrical dimming/control experience
  • BA or MFA in technical theatre or Bachelors degree in Industrial Technology, Engineering, Construction or related field helpful
  • Project management in the fields of technical theatre, TV or Construction
  • Knowledge of how a lighting system goes together
  • Able to drive a 24' truck is a plus
